Play Therapy

Unfortunately, children often experience problems far beyond their comprehension, maturity, and coping skills. Helping children through difficult situations require a different approach that takes into account their developmental needs. Play Therapy is a remarkable therapeutic process in which children are provided a safe, protected place where they can begin to emotionally heal from stressful events in their lives including divorce, abuse of all kinds, the death of a parent or other family member, and physical illness.

Ways it Helps

  • Allows children to communicate through their play in the same way that adults communicate through talk
  • Offers a space filled with toys selected for their therapeutic value
  • Provides an opportunity for the child's feelings, thoughts, and emotions to emerge in a safe and nurturing environment
  • Teaches parents to conduct play therapy sessions with their children to improve parent-child relationships
